1. Drumbelina is a game

Your score, your mark, your Beats, your level and every other number this app shows are game features — points and progress inside this app, awarded by our own engine to make practising rewarding.

They are not a qualification, not an assessment, not a grade from any examining body, and not a measurement traceable to any external standard.

This applies to every number in the app, including anything you choose to share with a teacher or coach. A teacher may well find Drumbelina a useful practice aid, and they are welcome to use it as one — but what they are looking at is a game, and it must not be used as an assessment.

2. What your score must not be used for

Academic or examination grading. Audition, hiring, casting or employment decisions. Teaching certification. Any medical, diagnostic or physiotherapeutic purpose. Comparison against any other product or published standard. Research or publication, without our written agreement.

A score reflects what our engine made of one recording, in one room, on one device. Recording conditions, microphone placement, backing material and the style you are playing all affect it. We make no warranty that any score is accurate, repeatable, or comparable between takes, between devices, or between people.

We improve the engine over time, so playing the same thing today and later may not produce the same numbers.

3. Your recordings

You keep ownership of your recordings. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, analyse and reproduce them for the purpose of operating and improving Drumbelina, including developing and testing the measurement engine. This licence continues for anonymised and aggregated material after your account is closed.

We own the measurements, scores, marks, Beats, level history and any aggregate or derived data produced from your recordings, together with the engine that produces them.

4. Keeping your playing

Your recordings are saved on your own device as well as on our servers, and you can export any of them from the take screen at any time.

We keep only a limited number of recent recordings on our servers, plus any you pin, so your own copy is the durable one. Export anything you want to keep. We do not guarantee that any recording, score or history will remain available for any period.

5. The service may change or end

Drumbelina is provided as-is. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it, or all of it, at any time, and without liability to you.

If we discontinue the service we will use reasonable efforts to give at least 30 days' notice in the app or by email, so you can export your recordings first. We may not be able to give notice if the shutdown is forced on us by circumstances outside our control.

6. Your data

You can delete your recordings, or your whole account, from the You tab at any time. Deleting your account removes your data from our systems.

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.

7. Beta

Drumbelina is in testing. It may be unavailable, lose data, or behave unexpectedly, and features may be added or withdrawn without notice. Do not rely on it as the only copy of anything you care about.

8. Age

Drumbelina is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the law of South Africa, and the courts of South Africa have exclusive jurisdiction.
